The Southern sky is drenched in mountain-cool air. Radein, located in the municipality of Aldein, is a small mountain village in the southernmost part of South Tyrol. At 1,500 metres above sea level, it is the highest settlement on the Regglberg plateau. The drive from Neumarkt or Auer takes about 30 minutes and it ends in the middle of a largely unspoilt natural landscape with gently mountainous, lush and sunlit meadows, pastures and sparse larch, spruce and stone pine forests.
It is never barren in this part of the world, where the open, unobstructed view of the surrounding panorama – with the blue of the sky and the intense colours of the landscape – give an impression of southerness. It does not come as a surprise that Radein has been a popular summer resort since the 19th century. Today, it is a hikers’ paradise, the Weißhorn and Schwarzhorn peaks, the Bletterbach Gorge (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the Trudner Nature Park being in the most immediate vicinity.

The greenery and colours of nature,
right there at your fingertips.

Stories of things and things full of history.
All under the same roof.

Even the smallest object is a great piece of the heart.

Nothing shapes our house as much as the people it brings together and the stories they bring with them. Our house brings together a favourite place on the mountain and the joy of sharing it with others. The berghoferin is first and foremost an enthusiast’s project and an act of conviction: it is not our desire to offer everything possible and for sure not the obvious.
Rather, we want to depart from the most beaten tracks and share our enthusiasm for the mountain through a modern approach to hospitality. We love good stories and are enthusiastic about special discoveries and the people behind them. We value and cultivate in-depth insights into the local and inspiring views beyond the regional horizon and open up spaces for cultural exchange, new audiences and alternative standpoints. The berghoferin is a space for the self, for discoveries, for searching and finding.

Our logo lettering

We asked friends, guests and partners to capture the berghoferin in their handwriting. The result is a hundred versions of our name, a hundred facets of one and the same word, a hundred views of our hotel. Individually as well as together, they represent what we experience: a culture made unique and distinctive by the people who live in it.
